As birthday approaches...

I skip through the past -- all the way back to when Michael Cheda made a five-minute film of me making a mobile -- Only a fragment survives, visible if you CLICK ON THE TITLE ABOVE..

Or call up a charcoal portrait by Penelope Schloss from another era:

Where did you get a portrait by Penelope Schloss? I modeled for her many many years ago and wonder where she is now.

I was not certain who the woman was who sketched me and my roommate Robert Minichiello (in the 1960s, I assume). The poet Jon Anderson was staying with us, and the woman who sketched us as we all talked was with one of Jon's poet friends who had gathered in our apartment. It was probably Jon's first wife Nancy who helped me identify it as a drawing by Penelope Schloss, and I guess Margaret's message verifies that.

Very interesting. I know that Jon Anderson was a good friend of poet David Schloss. Penelope was David's (first) wife. She was an amazing draughtswoman. The sketch she did of you shows that. Really fine. Exquisite. I'm glad you posted it. Thanks.

Thank you, Margaret. Yes, I believe David was with her when she sketched me and Robert Minichiello. Sadly, Robert is deceased, or he would join in on this with the definite answers.
