When my good friend Victor last returned from Borinquen (Puerto Rico) he brought me a medallion (upper left below) derived from one of the ancient petroglyphs of the island's original people, the Taino, who were the first of the indigenous peoples in this hemisphere to be slaughtered almost entirely by the Spanish invaders.
